Microvascular obstruction (MVO) exerts deleterious effects following acute myocardial infarction (AMI). We investigated coronary angiogenesis induced by coronary serum and the role of hypoxia-inducible factor-1A (HIF-1A) in MVO repair.Myocardial infarction was induced in swine by transitory 90-minute coronary occlusion. We present a successfully chronic total occlusions (CTO) coronary recanalisation with the subadventitial space by excimer laser atherectomy (ELCA) adjunctive therapy. Angiogram revealed non-significant diffuse disease of the left coronary system with a complex long proximal right coronary artery (RCA) CTO (J-CTO score 4) and collaterals (Rentrop Grade 2 and Werner classification CC1) from the septal branches (Figure 1, Panel A). Abstract The aim of this work was to investigate the influence of endothelin on myocardial ischemia and reperfusion in anaesthetized dogs. Animals were submitted to left thoracotomy and 120 min of left anterior descending coronary occlusion, followed by 180 min of reperfusion.
